If your instructor has created Groups in your eConestoga course, you may be asked to Self-Enroll yourself into a group. To do so:

  1. Go to Course Tools -> Groups.
  2. Click View Available Groups at the top of the screen.
  3. A list of all available groups, and the number of other students currently enrolled in each one, will be displayed. Click Join Group beside the group you wish to join.

The video below demonstrates the self-enrollment process. Note that eConestoga's menus differ slightly from the ones in our vendor's video; you can access the Groups tool from Course Tools -> Groups.

Notes:

  • If you already know the classmates you wish to form a group with, coordinate with your peers to select a group that is empty, and then have all members quickly sign up for that group at the same time to avoid having other classmates accidentally join the group.
  • If you accidentally join the incorrect group, you will not be able to leave that group or change your group on your own. If you contact your instructor, they should be able to remove you from the undesired group and allow you to self-enroll into a different group.
