Re-Enable TurnItIn After Copying
If you copy one or more TurnItIn-enabled Assignment folders into your course, there may be an update you need to perform to reactivate TurnItIn. It’s very important that you make this update before any of your students submit to your Assignment folders. The update is very quick to do.
- Go to Course Tools -> Assignments.
- Look for this message at the top of the page:
- If you see the message, press Re-Enable.

If you don’t see the message, then either none of the Assignments you copied into your course were set to use TurnItIn, or they’ve already been re-enabled (by you, or by another instructor in the course).
If you see an error message in red text beside any of your Assignment folders after re-enabling TurnItIn, don’t panic! That just means the automatic re-enabling didn’t work, and you’ll need to enable TurnItIn manually for that folder instead.
