Your course's homepage helps students find the most important information they need to succeed in your course, divided across four tabs.

Home Tab

The student homepage. The course title is at the top, followed by a bar of links including the Course Outline, Instructional Plan, Textbook, and Program Handbook. Below to the left are announcements posted by the instructor, and below to the right is a list of assessments with due dates in the near future.

The Home tab displays the information that students need to see when they first access your course.

  • Course identification
  • Next Meeting information
  • Customizable links to important documents and resources
  • Announcements
  • A "Work To Do" section that compiles upcoming due dates
The instructor homepage. Similar to the student homepage, except the Essential Elements Scanner is added, the the space below the link strip is taken up by four quick tools-- Students at Risk, Flagged Assessments, Enrollment Changes, and Student Activity

The instructor's Home tab moves Announcements to their own dedicated management tab on the left, and uses that space instead for a student progress summary.

Dashboard Tab

The student Dashboard tab. The What-If Calculator is linked at the top, followed by a summary of the student's grades, and a progress bar showing how much of the course's content they've viewed. At the bottom, the system lets the student know that they have an Assignment overdue.

Students’ Dashboard has information about their student’s grade and any overdue assessments. Instructors’ Dashboard keeps you up to date on ongoing assessments and enrollment changes, and helps you find students who may be struggling.

Schedule Tab

The student Schedule tab. The page identifies that it is Week 10, and names the topic covered that week. There is a link to an assignment due that week, and the student is shown that they have viewed zero out of four content pages in the week folder. At the bottom, the system shows a month calendar, with various course events displayed on different days.

An automatically-compiled summary of content and assessments the student needs to know about this week and in future weeks. If your course uses the Dynamic Instructional Plan, the Schedule tab will pull information you’ve configured in that document, including unit learning outcomes and weekly summaries.

Announcements Tab

The instructor Announcements tab. The user is viewing the default 'Visible' tab, with three other filters available labeled Upcoming, Expired, and Draft. There are three total Announcements shown. A welcome message is manually pinned as the top announcement, above two weekly posts.

An Instructor-only tab, this gives you several new options for managing your course announcements.

  • Add and edit announcements
  • Pin important announcements to the top
  • Style announcements with a colour and icon
  • Quickly tab between Visible, Upcoming, Expired, and Draft announcements

Help Tab

The student help tab. There is a search box across the top, and then buttons to access various support services down the side-- instructor contact information, eConestoga Support, IT Services, a link to the instructor's online meeting, eText support, and McGraw Hill support.

A list of support links that customizes itself automatically to match tools you’re using in your course. E.g., if you use Respondus LockDown Browser and use a Texidium eText, support information for those services will appear automatically for both you and your students.
